Happy New Year—Happy New You!

A&F_Happy New Year bannerOur entire Alive and Free family would like to wish you a happy New Year that is full of joy, love, endless happiness, and continued success! As we start out this year, many people are riding and hopping on the “Resolution Train”. It’s wonderful to make resolutions to better changes, however, it’s really difficult to stick to our resolutions. I’ve been there and I’m sure you’ve been there too! Many times this is the case because we have great intentions to change in a big way but then when our busy lifestyle kicks in, we find that it’s difficult to stick to those radical changes as our old, engrained habits prevent us from achieving our goals.

This year, may I suggest a few mindset concepts to help you keep to your resolution? Whether you want to eat healthier, lose weight, quit smoking, stop stressing out or simply reduce your spendings…when you understand how the mind works, you can work with it and have it work for you!

1. Choices: Exercise your power of choice. Each day decide and choose your resolution again. Just because you decide to do something once doesn’t mean that it will just happen continuously. Choose your resolution everyday. If one day you weren’t able to stick to your goals, that’s not a problem, simply choose again in the next moment. Commit to choosing your resolutions again and again.

2. Consistency and Repetition: Focus on the day to day choices and keep choosing. The more consistent you become the more you create a pathway to a new habit. Our brain learns through repetition, and then once repeated enough it becomes automatic.

3. Accountability: Include someone that will support you in your choices to pursue your resolutions. Then in some way involve them by having them check in on you, remind you or encourage you if you fall back into an old habit. If you don’t have a person in mind, find a book or YouTube clip that will encourage and motivate you and read or play that video every day. It’s important who and what you surround yourself with as positive influences on how you feel about yourself and others.

Our resolution is to remind you of who you can be and what you’re capable of achieving. We are here to help you stay on track when you need encouragement, to be consistent in what we offer and allow you to successfully achieve your goals. We understand the power of the mind, how it learns, and that once the mind is directed in a positive way, it can help you create the You that you’ve always knownwithin!
