Oprah Says: Change the Way You Inhale and Exhale for Your Wellbeing!

According to Dr. Andrew Weil (pioneer in the field of integrative medicine), we breathe about 20,000 times a day and he strongly encourages breathing correctly. As breathing is the “most important physical functions our bodies perform. And still, somehow, most of us get it wrong.”

By breathing correctly, we can get more oxygen, which can in turn help heal “a startling number of serious conditions, including chronic pain, atrial fibrillation, asthma, digestive issues, depression, and a wide range of stress-related illnesses.” However, as we age, stress becomes us and our breathing becomes more shallow. Shallow breathing triggers to human body to feel stressed and releases a stress hormone called ‘cortisol’, it then weakens our immune system, which will ultimately allow pathogens. Ideally, one should be taking 4-6 breaths a minute.
